Your book has been sitting on my bookcase since before Christmas, and I kept telling myself I really need to read that... finally last week I found the time to sit and begin reading and once I started, I could not put it down! You write truthfully and honestly and whilst I find is heartbreaking at times it is also awe-inspiring and makes me realise no matter what life throws at us we can come out the other side a better person. I first saw you as an actor in Peak Practice Series 3 or course you reappeared again in Series 9! I had never seen Ladybird, Ladybird until a few weeks ago, the question I asked myself was, “Why did I wait so long to watch such a powerful drama!” Your book has inspired me and made me believe that I can be successful and achieve the things I want. I loved in the book how you described Liverpool growing up, my dad was born and raised in Liverpool (1948) and he often shares his stories with me, ironically, my Nan also lived on Smithdown Road, so many of the things you mentioned brought back memories of stories I have heard growing up! Keep up the amazing work, with love, Ally x

  12. Chrissy, your book has had me hooked! What a page turner and what a life you have had. Thank you for sharing. I was in a domestic abusive relationship and like you I was a pleaser! Felt that everything was my fault. Thankfully that was years ago now. You have opened up and touched the hearts of so many many people. I have loved you eversince Ladybird, Ladybird. So happy that you are still out there touching lives.   15. Well what a life Crissy Rock has had. Bought Crissy's book when went to see her in Benidorm (just returned 28th april 2012) I waited while other fans spoke to her and she signed the book for my mum Anne. I thought I would read a few pages, let me tell you I was up all night I could not put this book down, the tears the smiles etc . Very friendly lovely lady I do not know how she coped, you Crissy are a inspiration. To all who have not read the book buy it. This lady never gave up. Good on ya lots of love and best wishes for the future years.x

  23. For many years I have been a great fan of Crissy Rock since 1994 with her film debut in Ladybird Ladybird on Channel Four for the first time.

    Her great performance as Janey in ITV Comedy Drama Benidorm is the original classic with Tim Healey & Sheila Reid.

    Once again Crissy you are a wonderful beautiful actress on TV & Movies for a long time to come and also keep up the good work indeed.

    I have just finished reading your book and i was amazed at what you have been through and more important how you had this amazing strength to get through it, your ability to laugh at the worst situation, i even laughed when you wanted to laugh at the smash potato fritters.

  55. Crissy just finished reading your book finished in two sittings what a story ! I don't know how you have had the strength to come through I admire you so much. My grandad also lived at Windsor garden tenements his name was Adam Higginson he lived there all his married life his wife died in childbirth at 29 and the baby died at two days he brought up the five other children with the help of his sister Aunt Annie he never married again.   66. You give me hope. I was also abused as a child then raped as a teenager but i'm now on a counselling course at college because I want to help others. I also want to have group meetings with others because there isnt any group self helps out there for us all to talk to each other.
